After discovering that his daughter liked princesses, the artist Tsai Shih-Hung, who felt that he did not really understand “princesses,” began to study them seriously and developed works with this theme. However, by the time they were completed, his daughter no longer loved princesses. This lovely yet somewhat disappointing parent-child experience led Tsai Shih-Hung to develop this humorous work with a slightly self-deprecating tone. Starting from the worldview of computer games, he uses cartoon-style lines and bright colors to draw dramatic pictures. The princess wearing a Donald Duck mask tried to catch the bad guys who invaded her planet, but in the end, she found that she was catching herself. To “catch oneself,” though, means “getting to know yourself again” for Tsai Shih-Hung. He puts a Donald Duck mask on his character, which makes the character look as if he is always smiling, as if to say, “I hope people smile no matter what situation they face.”
