TSAI Shih-Hung has created a virtual country in The Speechless; however, the country is in a gesture of surrender. The environment reveals that the bloody occupation has occurred. There is no great statue but a stranded ship on a tall pedestal. In front of the pedestal, several people are standing or sitting under a portrait of a parrot. The faces of those people are invisible. The land in the picture is dry and broken, and the trees are left with dry branches. By depicting an imaginary space, TSAI Shih-Hung describes a state of surrender in a realistic landscape, handing over the artist's imagination of the future.
