CAI Shih-Hong draws inspiration from modern society, especially popular computer strategy games. His work often carries a sense of impending war. In Magic Kiss, six horses and riders pass through the scene. As if they were cloned by graphics software, there seem to be no appreciable differences among them. The sky in the distance is dark and gloomy, and a dull green ray of light shines down from it, bending on the way. In the rushing water is an unclothed couple locked in embrace. By creating this uneasy, fantasy-like scene, the artist creates a scene of cold detachment from the world, a metaphor of the false realities of our lives.
