The Taihu Rock under the Sunset by YANG Zi-Yi expresses the possibilities between natural and artificial. Taihu stone is often used in Chinese classical garden to build the artificial mountain and water, its shape was formed uniquely due to long-term natural erosion. The Taihu stone landscaping is placed in the lower center, surrounded by orange-red rockery, and the sunset above is painted in unreal purple, showing the unnaturalness in unrealistic colors. YANG Zi-Yi presents the forgotten man-made buildings and cultural historical meanings in the natural landscape through reconfiguration of nature, denoting the subtle coexistence of “man-made” and “natural symbiosis”.
