YANG Zi-Yi explores urban spaces and architectural ruins as a creative theme. The glue painting Unnatural Landscape shows a black space that contains an imitation landscape that bears the obvious marks of artificiality. Dark brown skies, purple mountains, white columns of smoke, and green rivers create a bizarre and strange landscape atmosphere. The entire setting is devoid of people and seems to have been abandoned for many years, with the only marks of their passing being the remains of stairs, bridge abutments, and other ruins. YANG Zi-Yi reassembles natural elements and artificial constructs to explore the changing values and definitions of natural landscapes, and culture in the process of urban development and growth of a civilization.
