HSU Jui-Fu attempts to seek evidence of life in every corner. “Flower Sandals” is a continuation of classical realism techniques and style portrayed in a darker tone. The artwork depicts a pair of shoes covered with exotic plants that include centella, rabbit milk weed, ebolo, dandelions, and even raspberries. This pair of abandoned shoes has already lost its functions, but was able to convey another form of vitality thanks to the resilience of nature. HSU Jui-Fu often finds rich and beautiful things from seemingly broken objects and attempts to unearth the forces of life in hidden and dark areas. His works invite the audience to explore and observe the beauty of mundane objects from a different perspective.
