HSIAO Bei-Chen presents actual and familiar landscapes in a blurred, unstable fashion to highlight the physical presence of the landscape effectively. Blurred and out-of-focus images were used in the artworks to explore the reality of visual observations. View 2010-25 shows the view in a traveling train. The unmoving mountains could be seen in the background, reduced to a blurred color band due to the great distance. The elegant composition and blurring help establish the visual effects of movement and speed.
