CHI Chien’s Back Garden series explores the transformation of space and the extension of time. In Back Garden : Purple, flowers and the plane constitute the image；The former were made through silk screen in repetition, giving viewers the sense between “scene” and “thing”; the arriving plane transforms the visual imagination, bringing the time of past and future. The naming of the work emphasizes the ‘back’, insinuating the secrecy of the field; meanwhile ‘back’ can be related to ‘post’ which means new.
