CHI Chien converts photographs into pictures, creating a world where languages and symbols can both be taken apart and reassembled to create new interpretations. Hand shadow puppet games were used as a source of inspiration, using gestures, light, and shadows, and actual images to create a presentation of images capable of determining language elements and symbols. Theatre of the Century: Animal Portrait (Bird NO.4) is a montage of different elements set against a clean background. The first element is two hands that create the second element, a hand shadow that resembles a bird in flight. The third element is a bird resting on the branch, studying both the hands as well as the shadow created on the wall to verify their identities.
