Lin Yi-Chun’s works feature color blocks imitating paper cutouts, and her “Wonderful Moment” series centers on life’s vagaries and impermanence, its consumption by time. In this work, inner and outer time are presented respectively in the two halves of the composition. On the left, the speckled canvas and confetti-like specks and arrangement of color blocks suggest a broken landscape, an inner world at once mysterious and quiet. The one on the right suggests a wall hung with four indistinct Polaroid photos, which would refer to expressed personal emotions and warm memories. In both, she repeatedly  added or subtracted elements to break up the continuity of the creative process, or she moved already placed elements away from their familiar positions. Through such creative methods, the concept of time is disassembled, and the linear relationship between past, present, and future is broken, and they are all placed together on the same canvas.
