Lin Yi Chun has always titled her works Wonderful Moment, with a number added, using the concept of editing time in order to transform life’s moments into geometric blocks of color resembling cut pieces of paper, which are distributed irregularly through the composition, layered on top of one another, and interwoven into a colorful, abstract world. She does not determine what the composition will be in advance, but through the process she will constantly sense the unlimited expansion and change of time draw out and extend her emotions and body sense. Wonderful Moment-77 continues this idea but incorporates plant images and handles the details in a way that also highlights touch, making the work more richly layered. On the flat canvas, the color blocks are superimposed, covered over, scraped away, and reorganized to create the sensation of space, which makes you feel as if you are in the woods or among flowers. It suggests that linear time has been broken, to let past, present, and future exist at the same time.
