Artwork Appreciation
HUANG Chiu-Yueh converts observations of the external world into an abstract study about the journey of life in order to express innermost emotions and conclusions drawn about the process. Sunshine-2 shows a large red colored patch that depicts changing shadows on a wall. The distinctively layered shades of red were portrayed using dry brush strokes, drips, scratches, and other textures to generate multiple layers and touches. Blue dots were arranged in an orderly formation to create a predictable rhythm that corresponds to the 4 seasons, the process of life, and changes of inner feelings.
