HSIAO Chu-Fang often uses the seemingly insignificant, and yet simply profound little things in life as the main subjects for creations. In the work, Let Mom Feed You Forever, a mother is gently feeding the child in her arms, and the child seems to be happily immersed in. The arms of mother are presented in an exaggerated fashion, magnifying the warmth of motherly love conveyed to the viewer. However, the black background creates a sorrowful contrast. A mother’s love for children is sacred and great, and it will never decrease, but the receiving end does not necessarily carry the same emotion. Through this work, HSIAO Chu-Fang attempts to interpret the positive and negative aspects of love and express the gap in recognition and response of love between the sender and the recipient.
