CHENG Cheng-Huang’s artworks portray dialogs with his inner-self. Contemplation uses the contrasting shades of red and black and a striking visual display that convey his reflections on life and existence. The background is constructed using Chinese traditional red paper cuttings. The lower foreground depicts a man sitting cross-legged with his back facing the viewer and his head bowed. The muscular contours are presented in sharp and heavy black lines to create a somber and heavy sensation.
