CHEN Ting-Chun’s illustrations explore the different meanings revealed by personal space. The M. Hummer’s shows the room of a female American artist in London. Clothing articles are strewn about the floor, while daily necessities are scattered about on the closet next to the bed. A large bed with red sheets dominate the center of the room, serving as the place for the writer to rest her mind, spirit, and body after a hard day of writing. CHEN Ting-Chun uses a diary-like narrative to describe the dwellings of other people to portray the lifestyle of different cultures and people and to explore the different meanings provided in personal spaces.
