LIAO Meng-Ling’s works are based upon heartfelt emotions of the surroundings. The work Dancing with Flora was created using intaglio printing. Artwork composition can be divided into two layers, with the first created using black-colored circles, ellipses, and freely drawn lines, and the second created via screen printing to create a gently colored and elegantly formed picture of a flower, with colors spreading gently along the texture of the canvas and natural texture of the wooden board. The resulting composition offers an energetic dynamism that overturns traditional presentation generated by stiff lines. With this liberal and relaxing visual language, LIAO Meng-Ling was able to create unique works to convey aspects of her emotional world.
