The dimensions that we can feel in daily life include length, width, and height in space as well as time, However whether there are dimensions beyond human perception such as “wormholes” or multiverses?  Chen Hung-Chun believes that even though we cannot see them, we have the opportunity to express them in painting through our imaginations. Thus he tries to translate the concept of “dimension” into visible models. In this work, he uses hexagonal columns with stability of structure as imagined spaces—each hexagonal column has its own appearance and is an independent space. However, when these hexagonal spaces are collected and brought together, they form a multiverse, and they are both inside and outside of one another. Various cosmic images interspersed in the composition, such as nebulas and spiral galaxies then seem to be in motion. In this way, the artist realizes the possibility of traveling through time and space in two-dimensional painting.
