LIAO Wen-Hao nourishes his work from famous Chinese paintings of all dynasties, he converts the calligraphy into his own mountain, river and people, and tries to develop a new field of modern ink painting. The piece Billowing Smoky Mist of Spring fuses the human body into the image of mountains and rivers, the figure without clothes clinging to the peaks, arms around bizarre rocks, and surrounded by clouds like the writers and poets that abandoned their mundane lives and bring the rustic ambiance to the viewers. LIAO Wen-Hao observes his inner world and external nature, the figures in his works always seem leisure, sometimes lying on the stone, sometimes wandering around, exhaling and inhaling the smoke, walking along the mountain and rocks; humans and mountains and rivers live together all as one.
