HUANG Mei-Yun’s artwork are mainly inspired by everyday observations of her surroundings in the process of self-discovery. Home is inspired by what the artist saw by the road as she was heading home one evening. Stems emerging from a bush extend towards the sky, showered in an orange red mantle from the setting sun to create a fuzzy yet elegant backdrop. The artist created this serene landscape of the setting sun to convey her inner inspirations and belief that although people live in homes, nature remains the true resting place for their hearts. HUANG Mei-Yun’s glue paintings are infused with the gentle yet subsumed femininity, using plain yet delicate styles to project her spiritual experiences derived from the natural world.
