作品賞析

LIN Yu-Ting is skilled in using hand-made models to convey a certain idea and then depicting the finished work in a photograph. Most of her artworks are based upon mundane everyday environments presented in the form of edible cakes. Town House is an imaginary scene created by LIN Yu-Ting. Five interconnected open-air terrace houses were constructed upon a rectangular butter sponge cake. The houses are decorated with different patterned window grilles and different colored doors made using icing sugar, with the final touches being tantalizing strawberries on the rooftops. In this work, LIN Yu-Ting investigates both tangible and intangible relationships and interactive possibilities between houses and cakes as well as between reality and sweetness, using this wondrous combination to start an artistic adventure that brings us to a whole new world.
