LIN Yu-Ting is skilled in using hand-made models to convey a certain idea and then depicting the finished work in a photograph. Most of her artworks are based upon mundane everyday environments presented in the form of edible cakes. Penthouse Stamped is an imaginary scene created by LIN Yu-Ting. Layers upon layers of buildings are constructed upon a rectangular block of butter sponge cake decorated with water towers and electric lines made with icing sugar. In this work, LIN Yu-Ting investigates both tangible and intangible relationships and interactive possibilities between houses and cakes as well as between reality and sweetness, using this wondrous combination to start an artistic adventure that brings us to a whole new world.
