作品賞析

LIN Yu-Ting is skilled in using hand-made models to convey a certain idea and then depicting the finished work in a photograph. Most of her artworks are based upon mundane everyday environments presented in the form of edible cakes. Store depicts an imaginary landscape created by LIN Yu-Ting where a triangular chocolate cake building is decorated with colorful metal grills and signboards made from icing sugar. The uneven texture of the sponge cake walls also gives it a weather-beaten appearance. Finally, the stacked roof is given a topping of chocolate sauce. In this work, LIN Yu-Ting investigates both tangible and intangible relationships and interactive possibilities between houses and cakes as well as between reality and sweetness, using this wondrous combination to start an artistic adventure that brings us to a whole new world.
