作品賞析

LIN Yu-Ting is skilled in using hand-made models to convey a certain idea and then depicting the finished work in a photograph. Most of her artworks are based upon mundane everyday environments presented in the form of edible cakes. Town House is an imaginary landscape created by LIN Yu-Ting. Two floors of residential flats are constructed using chocolate cake which is further decorated by colorful window gratings and signboards made by icing sugar. The walls, being composed of spongy cake, would assume a weathered appearance. Finally, the stacked roof is given a topping of chocolate sauce. In this work, LIN Yu-Ting investigates both tangible and intangible relationships and interactive possibilities between houses and cakes as well as between reality and sweetness, using this wondrous combination to start an artistic adventure that brings us to a whole new world.
