LI Yu-Chen is a print artist and believes that memory is an accumulation and continuation of time. A part of our memory would be a temporal moment virtually created by our minds. She has attempted to use a series of paintings to express her imaginary world in response to the surrealism of memories. Calling at depicts gentle hill slopes sparsely covered by trees and short buildings, while cloud-like organic forms hang in the sky. At the bottom of the painting, the artist uses waves and radiating lines to complete the portrayal of this subconscious and virtual world. To LI Yu-Chen, the memories created by our brains have been mixed with our own imaginations and experiences, resulting in a final product that cannot be directly equated to reality. This harkens to the environment where we live in and its ever-changing position and status.
