The subject of this piece by CHIU Jin-Ping is the ironworks that her father ran for over 20 years, which faced the fate of its eventual closing. Chiu arranges pieces of scrap iron on the canvas, and then adds repeated layers of paint onto it, resulting in varied textures on the surface of the canvas like the weathered face of a wall: speckled yet full of memories, it represents the passage of time. As she faces a period of transition and uncertainty, Chiu seeks to relive memories of growing up in the ironworks.
