Artist Lin Yi-Lung focuses on printmaking, especially the technique of copperplate etching. This work continues the artist’s traditional forest fantasy theme and took more than three months to produce. He started from sketches, based on observing various things in daily life, remembering various image fragments and other sensory information, and then carved line by line. The things in his forests are not based on known plants and animals, but are individual things rewoven together in his imagination; the golden ink also makes his images exude a bright, magical light. The artist does not limit the way viewers understand it. In fact, he hopes to experience, interpret, and even expand this imaginary world through the eyes of viewers. Through the different emotional projections of each person, the story of the work is enriched.
