LIN Yi-Lung’s block print is based on observations and fantasies about mundane everyday life. Copper etching technique was used to create intricate patterns. “Moon Sea” is a fantasy world created in this fashion. Planetary bodies, old buildings, used toys, plants, and animals that interest him are transformed into a set of fantasy elements within the work. The world of Moon Sea is home to structurally complex but elegant and exotic beasts and futuristic buildings, with life immersed in a setting of mysterious serenity. LIN Yi-Lung uses this alien and fantasy world to project emotional fragments from his memories and leaves behind evidence for the existence of life in this realm.
