Cultivate by HUNG Hsuan is made by ink and pencil. The center of the blank is emphasized in black, gray, and white, and illustrates a glass cabinet in the shape of a hexagonal pointed pile. Plants grow in it as if it’s a greenhouse. Because of heredity, HUNG Hsuan is prone to have keloid, the scars on her body cannot be easily removed, which responds to the traces on the paper. By repeatedly ripping the paper to get rid of the fibers to make it thin and pervious, and revealing the inner plants faintly, the texture and the depth of the space like the shallow sculpture are brilliantly given.
