TSAI Meng-Chang creates in a realistic style based on his experience and observations in the city. Successful Youth was inspired by a wall which appeared briefly on the intersection of Chenggong 1st Rd and Qingnian 2nd Rd in Kaohsiung city. After the original triangular window store building was demolished, a colorful wall was exposed. The work uses oil painting techniques to present geometric elements. The regular structure of the staircases and the floors divide the picture evenly. The wall reveals a variety of blocky colors inside the building. It makes people curious about the life of its previous owner. Why is there such a colorful wall? Facing the things that passed away, TSAI Meng-Chang’s work becomes a medium for imaginative life, showing memories that are tied to the house.
