Akiyoshidai Traveler Picture

TSAI Kuen-Lin's work, Akiyoshidai Traveler Picture, is a series of his woodcut prints, containing regional history and geography. The print is at least 170 cm. He conducts investigations in specific areas in a form of field surveys and then displays the collected folk stories and country myths as images. In this work, he uses triangles and parallelograms to echo the geographical features of Akiyoshidai and karst topography in Japan. The illustration-like content shows the local historical stories. TSAI Kuen-Lin hopes to invite the audience to gain new insights from the works through the senses of the body, recalling the forgotten sensory experiences under the development of technology.
