HUANG Chih-Cheng's work, Rusty Memory-Twins, uses family photos as the elements. He deliberately removes the faces of the people in the photo, so that every viewer who stares at the work becomes the character in the photo. The plants and blood vessels dispersed in the image symbolize the familial kinship. They also serve as sutures for sewing the cracks together, reorganizing the scattered past into a living flesh. The silver foil, which is the base of the image, undergoes color change due to oxidation, showing traces of time and the memories that change with time. The aluminum foil is however not affected by oxidation, symbolizing a neutral recording. HUANG Chih-Cheng tries to present the forgotten emotions in the corners of people’s hearts by composing images.
