TSENG Mei-Chen once studied in Italy and learned the classical printmaking techniques of woodcut prints, developing this series of creations. In the work, The Book of Changes 64 Hexagram-11/12, she uses Hexagram 64 from The Book of Changes as the creative concept. After each work is completed, she uses divination to decide the next hexagram. She presents four images of complex textures through a shape of an opening book. The strong black and white colors increase the contrast and tension of the picture. As the picture goes rightward, the marks of the engraving gradually increase, causing the color to gradually fade. TSENG Mei-Chen combines Chinese and Western techniques and concepts to create a space of mind that seems to be able to hold everything.
