TSENG Mei-Chen depicts Lost Translation – The Last Judgment, a wood engraving printing that pays homage to the great masters of western art. TSENG Mei-Chen believes that printmaking has a unique ability to translate artworks from different materials and fields, and uses the mode of artwork to recreate masterworks and interpret with different languages. This artwork is based upon the Last Judgment at the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo as well as the notes, historical background, and novels of the original artwork, and attempts to re-interpret and recreate the rich artistic vocabulary portrayed by the masterpiece. TSENG Mei-Chen emulated the spirit of creation from the art master and reflected upon the intrinsic meaning of panel prints.
