作品賞析

LEE Chi-Hsiang’s work, 7:00AM, is one of his series of works using Taiwanese old glass windows as the main body of the painting. Glass windows are widely used in Taiwanese residences, providing beautifying and light-transmitting effects, as well as shelter and privacy. The artist creates a hyperrealism-like virtual effect with oil paintings to show the window patterns and the objects hidden behind the patterns, such as using the window patterns as a filter and recording the lighting situation without focus and with blurriness formed by the window patterns. LEE Chi-Hsiang combines the objects themselves with the window patterns. In addition to being a sketch of a morning scene, the objects drawn also leave the viewer with more room for imagination since the viewing is out of focus.
