LIN Hung-Hsin focuses on the relationship between people and social media. “Autoreproduction” uses a circuit board as a background to symbolize a world filled with software, cellphones, tablets, and other high-tech products where people receive tens of thousands of information pieces and data. The two individuals wearing the same face are split copies of a product generated in the network era. With backs facing each other, these persons were only able to communicate through signal connections, with the Internet being the primary channel by which they connect to the real world. LIN Hung-Hsin attempts to convey how advancements in the Internet and electronics have replaced past methods of communication, transforming and destroying social order and interpersonal relationships while generating an over-reliance on machines that blurs the boundary between the real and virtual worlds.
