作品賞析
WANG Liang-Yin has always used food as the creative theme of her works that explore the primal facet of desire. 9 Ways of Disappearing is a later work created in her dessert series. 9 scoops of ice cream in various stages of melting are arranged on a piece of baking paper on a baking pan. The brilliant colors and dripping paint recreate the flowing, dissolving, and sticky nature of melting ice cream. The 9 melting ice cream balls reflect the fleeting nature of emotional stimulations as well as different individual emotions and desires. WANG Liang-Yin uses strange and sweet colors in her visual presentations to evoke memories about taste, yet the work also conveys the falsehood of sensory excitement and serves as an analogy of various stages of human life and desires.
