PENG Hsien-Hsiang’s abstract landscape vocabulary focuses on the nature of humanity and life itself. Evanescence features a mysterious, black mass in a serene setting with a white mountainscape. The mass is created using dry rubbing of oil paint to present a state of chaos, while two cold, rigid lines passes through the middle of the composition. To PENG Hsien-Hsiang, his landscape painting serves both as a natural landscape with imaginary landforms and as an artificial landscape that projects inner self with. Pure spiritual status as the starting point, he created a composition of masses and fissures of hetereogeneity and disruptions that convey the gap between classical elements, people, and nature.
