After Rain

Having studied before in Spain, LIN Jaw-Tsang’s creative style was influenced by Tapies, and has demonstrated skill in using dust, soil, and other natural materials as the foundation to create a new possibility of aesthetic interpretation. After Rain uses a range of black-grayish tones as the main theme, leaving behind holes, trails, burrs, and lint left behind by planks and fabrics. These were then combined with brush strokes and sketch lines to create a large range of primal textures. The assemblage of readily available natural materials helps establish the trails of collective memory and innermost knowledge amongst individuals. In this work, LIN Jaw-Tsang once again used a liberal selection of materials to create a deliberate yet random texture of intimate quality, building a mysterious and self-contained atmosphere.
