LIN Jaw-Tsang makes liberal use of materials to create the simple and rustic texture of natural landscapes and generate a mysterious and self-contained atmosphere. Having studied before in Spain, LIN Jaw-Tsang’s creative style was influenced by Tapies, and has demonstrated skill in using dust, soil, and other natural materials as the foundation to create a new possibility of aesthetic interpretation. Footprints uses different brown shades as the main theme. Fibrous textures of wood, paper, and fabrics were combined with brushstrokes and sketch lines to create a rich range of primal textures. The assemblage of readily available natural materials helps establish the trails of collective memory and innermost knowledge amongst individuals.
