YEH Jen-kun’ s “Riverbank” uses organized lines and dark hues to create a tranquil and solitary atmosphere. The composition of the painting is simple, yet viewers can feel the artist’s delicate touch of genius. Yeh believes that modern people have created many monumental barriers on the surface of the earth in order to make life more convenient. Not only have we built geographical barriers, we have also created distance between people. In the painting, the white dots of the streetlights on the riverbank symbolize the artist’s expectation in warm humanity.
