Artist KANG Tien-Wang has studied Buddhist text and explored into the association between Buddhism and painting, which then becomes the inspiration for his creation. In “The Spring,” a large area of mountain rock and soil nearly occupy the entire image. The white clean spring water from the upper right and lower left corners inject vibrant of vitality into the silent painting while the exuberantly green bushes embellish the soil with a touch of vigor. The artist features themes in natural landscape by painting “the flowers and leaves denoting the world of Buddhism and all beings have life” The painting portrays the due vibrant vitality of all beings in the universe.
