Artwork Appreciation
HUANG Po-Hsun’s acrylic work, Freedomland, was named after an abandoned park located in LA. In this unreal space, the green sky and orange horizon create a fantastic and colorful scene, there is an annular seat in the center of the picture; and the wrinkles in the middle of the seat are like coral reefs. The seated puppet men look lost in thought, and the spherical plants are scattered like seaweed, pearl-like foam grows above the blue and transparent trunks, and there are some fragmented text messages. HUANG Po-Hsun uses rich colors, rendering, trickle and other skills to build a virtual country where people can have endless illusions, an extraterritorial environment where people are free, where they can contemplate, and dream.
