Artwork Appreciation
CHUANG Wo-Lung is skilled in using geometric color patches to construct his inner world, and has created a unique sense of order and aesthetics when arranging graphical relationships and layers. The stacks of color and forms are used as a means of communicating with the entire composition, revealing his innermost mindset during the process of creation itself.
In The Inner Appearance 3, CHUANG Wo-Lung made use of a blue colored background of different shades and added patches of contrasting reds and oranges to highlight the artistic conflict between different color blocks which at the same time portray a tightly ordered yet natural composition. CHUANG Wo-Lung 's works depict rich layers of oils and his own unique style that symbolize the human search for structure, order, harmony, personal space and position as well as freedom in the chaotic, modern world.
