Artwork Appreciation
A former exchange student in Spain, artist LIN Chun-Ju is known for creating large sculptures out of fabric. After exploring Catholicism more recently, she decided to give painting a fresh start, imagining paradise as depicted in Catholicism and releasing her inner unease through art. In Bizarre Flora, Lin creates new life forms with simple media and flamboyant colors. Like a hymn in praise of strange graces, she portrays the exuberance of birds of paradise (both the bird and the flower). With this piece, Lin describes to us a passion for life as well as the shared emotions of all of creation.
