Curtain-3

作品賞析

Artist Liao Zen-Ping transforms ordinary scenes captured by his camera into artistic creations through conscious composition, geometric manipulation, and light manipulation. In Curtain and Mirror-3, green curtains and white gauze occupy half of the frame, while a mirror on the wall reflects the curtains. Everyday scenes invite viewers to peek behind curtains or into the interior spaces hidden within mirrors. Liao Zen-Ping strives to minimize any implication of the artist’s personal touch, painting scenes of everyday life in a way that allows viewers to appreciate them with a neutral perspective. He attempts to explore the philosophical question “What is beauty?” in his paintings, and puts forward the idea that “perhaps there is no need to set limits between figural and abstract. Because only by breaking these frameworks can we gain visual freedom.”
