Although the abstract Direction of the Heart 4 before you depict geometry and space, what artist Chiu Dou actually wants to show in his work is his inner feelings. The artists’ s journey of abstract expression evolves from initial black- and-white tones, straight lines, and structural elements like perspective and parallel or vertical lines. In recent years, color has emerged, and the lines have shifted from straight to curved, reflecting his growing personal style. For him, it is the accumulation of personal emotions and life experiences. There are five works in his “Direction of the Heart” series, and this one, Direction of the Heart 4, has the richest structure. There are orange and blue color blocks in the composition, a white cloudlike mass on the right half, and two symbols on the upper layer. The artist tries to use bright colors, lines, and abstractions to show his colorful self.
