CHIU Duo starts from the most basic element of painting, tapping into figurative spaces and structures as his source of inspiration. Platform is a black and gray presentation devoid of any extraneous colors. Large patches of smudged brushstrokes blur the spatial and linear structures of the entire composition, creating a spatial realm of crisscrossing virtual and physical elements. Lines overlap and intersect with each other, generating an emotional atmosphere of flowing light and shadow. CHIU Duo employed brushwork and the two colors of black and white to convert details from everyday life into an emotional response depicted in a purely spiritual world.
