CHIU Dou uses pure colors and brushstrokes to form creative compositions that convey inner thoughts and emotions. The Island, unlike past works with clear, rigid outlines, is created only with black and white paints. Scrapes, rubs, and splashes were generously applied to create a rich, changing texture. The constantly moving and swerving brush strokes create smooth, untamed, and powerful impact that passionately displays creative vibes. The black and white painting provides a visual contrast rich with emotions that is nevertheless presented in a subsumed form. CHIU Dou’s works are infused with personal sensations on life, and construct a realm of pure spirituality in a collage of both virtual and physical elements.
