作品賞析
In Mirage, the artist Lo Wen-Hsin was trying to express the feeling of a “quasi-landscape” or of “being in a foreign place.” She uses technical pens, crayons, and pencils, and through layered paint and various rubbing and wiping methods, she gives her paintings an uncertain, vague, and mysterious atmosphere. This painting was inspired by her hometown of Pingtung, where there is a corner of abandoned farmland; the ground is overgrown with weeds, which are now overtaking the trees and swallowing up the fences, as if forming a black hole. She placed this at the center of the painting and tried to confuse the shapes of familiar things from macro and micro perspectives, like covering a dream with a veil. Brushstrokes were rubbed out into broken holes that left nothing clearer, so that only the white background seems real. It continues to emit a vague light after one wakes up from this dream.
