Artist Yen Chun painted this work with a kind of focus on microscopic detail. He used the classical glazing method, in which he repeatedly applies layers of diluted film-like oil paint to express the texture of this plant in detail, including the scars and patterns left on it by time and the external environment. When Yen Chun observed the plant at close range, the angle of light shining on it would change from time to time, so he drew a halo around the middle of the plant to indicate the change of direction of the light path. The sea in the background represents a rare travel experience the artist had during the pandemic. He deliberately blurred the waves in order to create the feeling of time flowing very slowly; he captured the eternity of a moment.
